What is Marine Hull?
Marine Hull is a plan that provides you with coverage for your vessel during its operation within the specified trading limits.

PERILS at a Glance:
  • Loss or damage caused by perils of inland rivers, lakes, or other navigable waters.
  • Fire, explosion, violent theft by persons from outside the vessel.
  • Breakdown or accident to nuclear installations or reactors.
  • Contact with aircraft, objects falling from aircraft, land conveyance, dock or harbor equipment.
  • Earthquake, volcanic eruption, or lightning.
Coverage Includes:
  • Accidents during loading, discharging, or shifting cargo or fuel.
  • Bursts of boilers, breakage of shafts, latent defects in machinery or hull.
  • Negligence of Master, Officers, Crew, or Pilots.
  • Barratry of Master, Officers, or Crew, provided loss is not due to lack of diligence by the Assured, Owners, or Crew.
How Much Is My Premium?
Your premium may vary, depending on:
  • The type of cover selected
  • Type of your vessels
  • Age of your vessels
  • Any additional cover selected
  • The sum insured
  • Our underwriting requirements
WAR EXCLUSION:
This insurance does not cover loss, damage, liability, or expense caused by:
  • War, civil war, revolution, rebellion, insurrection, or civil strife.
  • Hostile acts by or against a belligerent.
  • Capture, seizure, arrest, restraint, or detainment.
  • Derelict mines, torpedoes, bombs, or other derelict weapons.
STRIKES EXCLUSION:
This insurance does not cover loss, damage, liability, or expense caused by:
  • Strikes, locked-out workmen, or labor disturbances.
  • Any terrorist actions or persons acting from a political motive.
MALICIOUS ACTS EXCLUSION:
This insurance does not cover loss, damage, liability, or expense arising from:
  • Detonation of weapons or any person acting maliciously or from a political motive.
NUCLEAR EXCLUSION:
This insurance does not cover loss, damage, liability, or expense arising from:
  • Any weapon of war employing atomic or nuclear fission or fusion, or any like reaction or radioactive force.
CANCELLATION RETURNS:
Policies may be cancelled, allowing prorate monthly return of premium for each un-commenced month, but subject to a minimum retention of 25% of the annual premium.
NOTICE OF CLAIM AND TENDERS:
In the event of an accident where loss or damage may result in a claim, notice must be given to the Underwriters prior to survey. If abroad, a Lloyd’s Agent should be contacted. The Underwriters may decide the port to which the vessel should proceed for docking or repairs.

The Underwriters may also require tenders to be taken for repairs. If accepted, an allowance will be made for time lost due to the tender process, at the rate of 30% per annum on the insured value.
